These terms govern the use of jerseycityrooferspros.com and the roofing services we provide as a Jersey City roofing contractor. By requesting an estimate or hiring us, you agree to these conditions. If you have questions, call (201) 778-9628.
Estimates and Quotes
Our written estimate is valid for 30 days from the date issued. We base every quote on a physical inspection of your roof, not a photo or a guess. If we uncover rot, decay, or sag during the tear-off that wasn't visible before, we'll stop and show you the issue before proceeding. The final price may change if you approve additional work, such as replacing decking or installing a self-adhered ice dam membrane.
Scope of Work
Our contract lists the exact materials, including shingle brand, color, and nail type (we use ring-shank nails for high-wind areas). We'll note the number of squares, the starter course, and the field course layout. We do not include gutters, skylights, or chimney repointing unless stated in writing. Any verbal promise must be confirmed in the contract to be binding.
Payment Terms
We require a 20% deposit to schedule your project. The balance is due upon completion and your final walkthrough. We accept check, credit card, or bank transfer. If you finance through a third party, you must settle with them directly; our lien rights remain until paid in full. Late payments accrue 1.5% interest per month.
Warranties
Our workmanship warranty covers leaks caused by faulty installation for 10 years. It does not cover damage from storms, hail, or improper ventilation. Manufacturer warranties on shingles are separate; we'll register yours and provide the certificate. We'll show you how to file a claim if granule loss or end-of-life wear appears.
Liability
We carry general liability and workers' comp insurance. We're not responsible for pre-existing conditions like sagging decking or rot hidden under old layers. During a recover or overlay, we may expose issues we can't fix without a change order. We'll document everything with photos and get your approval first.
Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises, we'll first try to resolve it by phone or in person. If that fails, both parties agree to mediation in Hudson County before any lawsuit. You waive the right to a class action. This applies to all claims, including warranty disputes.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms as laws or our practices change. The latest version is always on this page. Continued use of our site or services after a change means you accept the new terms.
